7 Nov 2018 - Day trip to Gapado Island 가파도 (Part 1)

The itinerary for the day was a day trip to Gapado 가파도.
The map shows the bus route for bus no. 202, which we took to Moseulpo Port 모슬포항 for the ferry to Gapado (circled in
red).
Yes. The journey to the port for Gapado was far from our airbnb but I still wanted to check it out.
I heard the the island would be at its most beautiful from mid April to early May because of the green barley fields.
Nevermind, I still want to check out the island this time.
My mind was set on the island hahahhaa
We took bus no. 202 and 201 quite frequently becos the bus goes around the island hahaha
Since I like to stay near the coast, going round the island by bus no. 202 was really easy.
Except that the journey is always quite long since it goes round the island.
Well, I enjoyed taking the bus to see the island.
Taking my time to enjoy Jeju ^^
This was the route which we took everyday to take the bus.
It takes about 6mins walk from our airbnb to the bus stop.
We got on bus no. 202 at 8.56am.
We got off at this bus stop,"하모2리" at 10.19am.
From the bus stop, we walked about 15 mins to the ticket office to buy the ferry ticket...
I took the wrong route, thinking that the ticket office was somewhere near this area since this place looked like a port to me.
I remembered seeing many fishermen.
Hmmm....maybe this part for the port was for fishermen????
Just a wild guess..

Still the wrong place, just wanna show you so that you will not make the same mistake as me.
This is important when you are trying to catch the ferry.

We managed to get back to the correct route after asking the locals.
The locals directed us to this place to take ferry to Gapado.
Actually, till now I am still puzzled.
Becos I read online that one has take a ferry from Moseulpo Port 모슬포항 to Gapado.
So here is Moseulpo Port?

Finally reached the ticket office.
Errrr.....The sign on the entrance states, "운진항 Unjin Port".
So taking the ferry from here or Moseulpo Port 모슬포항?
몰라 .....I dunno...
But this place is confirmed correct becos the signage stated 가파도 Gapado and 마라도 Marado.

The ferry departure schedule from 운진항 Unjin Port and Gapado respectively on weekends and weekdays.
We were lucky to be able to catch the ferry that departs at 11am.
Otherwise, we would have to wait for another hour.
Do give yourself ample time to buy tickets and visit the washroom before boarding the ferry.
Boarding the ferry.
The ferry departed at 10.59am and reached Gapado at 11.14am.
Gloomy sky that day but fortunately, it did not rain.

First thing to do was to have our lunch cos we did not have breakfast...
The yellow marker shows drop off point for the ferry.
Our lunch place was somewhere on the other side of the island as shown by the blue star on the map.
We chose to cut across the island first and walk round the island back to the ferry pick up point.
Walking to the eatery to have lunch.

We took about 15mins to reach here.
Actually Gapado is not a big island.
We took 15mins to get here becos we were busy taking pictures lol
Online said that this place is popular for their 짬뽕 Jjamppong.
