20 Mar 2014 - 까멜리아장사도해상공원에서 ^^

It was still drizzling but I was thankful that everything was going smoothly.  

Its free seating.
The ship was fully taken up despite the rain.

A Korean man distributed this to all the passengers. He spoke in Korean and I had no idea what he was talking about. There was also some illustrations on Dos & Dont's in the park shown on TV. No translation at all. Some of the scenes were pretty funny although there were some where I could not understand. Do keep a look out for it as it will be useful. Do not sit too far away from the TV if you are short-sighted ㅋㅋㅋ

미안 해요. I know this picture is not clear at all. Please grab a map at the ship terminal & remember to take note of no. 18! No. 1 is Wharf IN and No. 18 is Wharf OUT!!! DO NOT GO BACK TO THE SAME PLACE WHERE YOU DISEMBARKED!!

Cos I went back to the same place to board the ship for my return trip but only to realise the place was not allowed for entry. I think the Korean man who distributed the tag or the helmsman should have mentioned this. However, everything was in Korean so I did not pay attention to what was said.

There was one scene in the TV illustration about carrying a big haversack into the park. I don't really understand but it seemed like advising visitors to take a small bag into the park.  Hence, I observed what the Koreans do. Many of them left their haversacks on the ship, while a few of them still bring along their haversacks with them. Waaa...this was the first time I encountered this. Should I leave my haversack on the ship?? 

Empty seats do not necessarily mean that most of the Koreans brought along their haversacks to the park.  I brought mine along anyway...

I reached here at 10.43am.

I am not sure what the ticket office is for but you don't have to buy another ticket again.

I gave up waiting for the crowd to finish taking their photos.
I quickly snapped and moved on ㅎㅎㅎ

ㅎㅎㅎㅎㅎ

I believe this is the place where all fans of "별에서 온 그대" would want to come ^^

Even though the camellia were almost gone but I can feel the ambiance hahahaha
Becos the drama ended not too long ago and they played the drama OST here as well ^^

Alright, it was time to head back to the ship.
I gave myself 10-15mins to get back to the WHARF...

어???

I don't understand what this signage means but I think it means no entry.
This was the route to where I disembarked from the ship.
It really scared the hell out of me cos I was left with less than 8mins before the ship departs.
My mind started running wild.
Will the ship wait for me???
If not, can I board another ship???
Told myself to calm down and think!!!!!
Fortunately, I had the map with me.
That was when I realised there is a "WHARF OUT"......!!  엄마야!!!!
Needless to say, I made a dash for it!!

Thank goodness that I gave myself more than enough time to get back to the "wharf".
I was sooooooooooooooo thankful when I saw the long queue.
Errmmmm....I assumed this was the ship for me ㅋㅋㅋ
I managed to reach here at 12.40pm!!
They did headcounts twice but will they wait if someone did not manage to arrive on time?

I think I understand why we were given this tag. The ship has a no. 7 on it too. Am I allow to take another ship if I miss this ship??  Manage your time. I don't think its advisable to take chances...

The ferry left Jangsado at 12.50pm instead of 12.40pm. I reached Tongyeong Excursion Ship Terminal at 1.41pm. The returned trip took an hour. Well, I hope my sharing can be useful to anyone who is planning a trip to Jangsado ^^ Up next is 동비랑벽화마을 Dongpirang Wall Painting Village!  아싸!!

20 Mar 2014 - 충무김밥 Chungmu Gimbap at 통영유람선터미널 Tongyeong Excursion Ship Terminal

There were a few eateries beside the ticket counter.
I decided to have my second round of breakfast here LOL
I was not hungry at all but I wanted to eat 충무김밥 Chungmu Gimbap in Tongyeong!!

The lady who brought me the 김밥 Gimbap was very kind. 
She told me I have to write my name and contact number at the back of the ship ticket.

The squid was very nice while the Kimbap was so so.

20 Mar 2014 - Buying ferry ticket at 통영유람선터미널 Tongyeong Excursion Ship Terminal

Saw this poster just before I enter the terminal.
 They were everywhere ㅋㅋㅋ

You will see a few shops on the first level selling local products such as seaweeds/kelp, dried shrimps, anchovies etc. Take the stairs up to second floor to buy your ticket.

I managed to buy my tickets ^^  KRW29500 includes return trip. It was like buying a bus ticket, I need not tell the counter staff what time I wanted.  They will allocate me with the next available timing. The earliest timing for the day was 10am and it will take 40mins to reach Jangsado. 

I asked the counter staff what is the departure time from Jangsado back to the ship terminal. She asked her colleagues and told me it will be 12.40pm cos visitors will only have 2 hours on the island. I thought I heard wrongly and asked her again, "Only 2 hours?? I can't stay longer??"  She shook her head and said, "Only two hours." The staff there do not speak much English but they understood what I wanted.  The timetable may be different on other days. You may want to check the timetable again.

No English translation at all. 
Everything was in Korean.

Admission fees to 까멜리아장사도해상공원 Jangsado Camellia Marine Park per adult is KRW8500.



If I am not wrong, I should refer to row no. 2. Ship departing from Tongyeong Excursion Ship Terminal at 10am, with a return trip ticket that cost KRW21000 for adults. I paid $29500 for return trip tickets(KRW 21000) including the admission fees(KRW8500). Duration to tour the park is ONLY 2 hours. The ship will depart from Tongyeong Excursion Ship Terminal at 10am and coming back from Jangsado at 12.40pm. It will take about 40mins to reach Jangsado and an hour from Jangsado back to Tongyeong Excursion Ship Terminal. I am not sure how 3 hrs 30 mins come about..

With reference to row no. 1, it seems like there is a cruise to Jangsado as well but the ticket is slightly more expensive and duration on the island is 1hr 50mins.



This is what I have been looking for before my trip.
However, I am not sure if this timetable is applicable for smaller ship or cruise.
This timetable may not be the same throughout the year. 
I am not sure.

20 Mar 2014 - Getting to 통영유람선터미널 Tongyeong Excursion Ship Terminal

I reached Tongyeong Bus Terminal at 8.40am. Remember the guy at 9월 hotel? He helped me to call and asked about the ferry timetable for 장자도. Yes! Yes! 장사도 *Wink
The first ferry will be leaving at 10am. I wanted to get to Tongyeong Excursion Ship Terminal 통영유람선터미널 as early as possible becos I was told that ferry tickets could sometimes be fully booked. Actually, I can take bus no. 101 to Tongyeong Excursion Ship Terminal but on second thought, I better take a taxi.  It was also drizzling in Tongyeong. I hoped the ferry will still operate as usual...

Again...if this is useful for anyone out there...

 I took a bus back for my return trip and the bus stop is opposite the bus terminal.

Well, it was not even 9am so its still closed when I was there. 

My original plan was to check out 동비랑벽화마을 Dongpirang Wall Painting Village, 해저터널- 경남 통영 Undersea Tunnel and 미륵산 Mireuksan. 장사도 was sort of a last minute decision. A big thanks to KTO(Korea) for this map becos I asked them how to get to 통영유람선터미널 Tongyeong Excursion Ship Terminal from Dongpirang Village. I thought of buying 꿀빵 Ggul Bbang and 충무김밥 Chungmu Gimbap from the popular shops in the area around the port before going to the ship terminal. I decided to give up the idea of going to Dongpirang Village first and proceed straight to the ship terminal instead. If I did not remember wrongly, the bus stop from 중앙시장 Jung-Ang Market to the ship terminal should be across the road, opposite the market.

Ooppss...too small ㅋㅋㅋ

I took the taxi at 8.41am and reached 통영유람선터미널 Tongyeong Excursion Ship Terminal at 9.03am. The starting fare was KRW2800 and total taxi fare cost KRW8600.
