19 Sep 2014 - Beautiful moments at Ichon Hangang Park

I kept thinking about cycling at Ichon Hangang Park becos I didn't manage to previously.
So I decided to go back again before the sun set!
I will be very sad if I didn't go cycling before flying back to SG!!!

Yay!! I managed to rent a bike this time ^^

My favourite bridge though it is not the nicest but it brings back fond memories ^^

Yay!!  Its such a joy to cycle along this stretch of lovely flowers ^^
Weeeeeeeeeeeee.......I am a happy girl!! 

They made my day ^^

I wish I can stay here for the rest of my life!!

Forget about anything & everything.
 Forget about going back to SG in 2 days' time...
Just me and myself here in this moment..
I adore this moment.

19 Sep 2014 - Pajeon Alley once again!

I brought my classmates and teacher to 이모네왕파전 at the pajeon alley after our graduation ceremony.

We decided to go for set A.

                                                 

I still prefer the Tteokbokki from 용산포장마차골목 Yongsan Pojangmacha ㅋㅋㅋ

닭도리탕  dakdoritang was a bit bland but spicy.

 Too much water I felt or maybe we didn't stir properly??

My classmates and teacher said this was very delicious. I told them that's becos they have not try the seafood pancake from 낙서파전!  This seafood pancake was not bad but too much flour which I don't like. I still prefer 낙서파전. My classmates were craving for 막걸리 Makgeolli but one of them looks really young. The lady boss requested my young looking classmate to show her ID. My young looking classmate was only 19 years old(Korean age) back then. My teacher said if there is anyone younger than 19 years old, the table will not be able to order alchohol. However, this was not the case when I visited 낙서파전 with my 16 years old niece during my recent winter trip.

Its about 5 mins walk from Hoegi Station, exit 1 to reach 이모네왕파전. I saw 낙서파전! My favourite pajeon from 낙서파전 was just opposite 이모네왕파전!  Can't remember the exact location but its either one of the location marked by the "Star". I searched a few blogs for the exact location but many bloggers did not give the correct location of 낙서파전....미안...
Anyway, 이모네왕파전 is a popular place though I prefer 낙서파전. I think 이모네왕파전 was well received by the locals becos it provides attractive set menu at very affordable prices.

19 Sep 2014 - Gonna miss the days studying in Korea....

My classmates and I were wondering what happened to our cups and plates painted during our pottery class. So here they are! Ready for collection on our graduation day ^^ I spotted mine ㅋㅋㅋ

Oh dear...Whoever have painted that plate will be so sad ㅠㅠ
Thank god, mine was in one piece ㅋㅋㅋ
Newspaper was provided to wrap up our cups & plates.
So thoughtful ^^

Every graduation class was given a cake roll, a box of 떡 and packet drinks.
The roll cake looked rather ordinary and tasted very nice.
Was it from PB??

Woww I didn't expect this to taste so good ^^

I wished I have room to eat more but got to save some space for lunch after class.

I think students who managed to score 75% and above will receive the certificate. Was it 75%?? There were a few students who did not manage to receive the certificate. One of them gave up revising cos she was lost and missed a few lessons as well. However, when she saw the questions and results, she really wished that she could have try harder. Morale of the story: Don't give up!  화이팅 ^^ 

Although my results were pretty okay, I felt I can do better. Language is something that requires a lot of practice. It does not mean that I can accomplish more just becos my results was slightly better than my fellow classmates in this beginner course. Without practise, I will lost touch and back as a beginner!

19 Sep 2014 - Instant 라면볶이 for breakfast

Bought this from Homeplus cos I was curious of how it would taste.

I couldn't remember how it taste by now Hahahaha
I think it tasted a bit sweet.
Was it or was it not??
Anyway, it was the last day of school. 
Getting our results and certificates today.
Feeling sad...I wish I can stay on a long term basis to study...

18 Sep 2014 - Cheap & good dinner

I think I said before but I want to say it again.
Somehow, I like this small neighbourhood market a lot.
I don't know why ㅎㅎㅎ

 홍두깨.  

This was the place I wanted its noodles in my previous trip. 

 Didn't manage to try as the eatery was closed when I came here previously.
Hhhmmm...so now should I or should I not??
I was not hungry BUT I went in anyway ㅋㅋㅋ
*Knowing that they give generous servings of noodles

I ordered at the counter and the lady collected the payment from me at the table before food was served.

The kimchi was really delicious and its free flow ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 

1. 손칼국수 Kalguksu 2500won
2. 손수제비 Sujebi 3000won
3. 잔치국수 Janchi guksu 1500won

Cheap right???? Although there isn't any meat in the noodles, I felt this is really cheap. Think the operating hours starts from 10am till 9pm.

A big bowl....

  I wanna try 잔치국수 Janchi guksu next time ^^

18 Sep 2014 - Getting to Mangwon Hangang Park

Grateful to KTO for giving me this map to get to Mangwon Hangang Park.
I was hoping to cycle along the river side...

Took the subway to Mangwon Station, exit 1.
The bus stop to take bus no. 9 for the park is right outside exit 1 as shown.

KTO website  states to take bus no. 9 and get off at Mangwon Suyuji bus stop.
Looking at this, I realised I can actually take bus no. 9 from HONGDAE!!!!

Here comes my bus.

Confused by this bus route seen on the bus. The names of the stops in this route looked a bit different from the one at the bus stop. Map from KTO indicates that I should get off at Sintaeyang Mokyoktang bus stop but the website says to alight at Mangwon Suyuji bus stop.

I got confused by the bus directory in Korea on many occasions. Got off at this bus stop, 대림아파트 Daelim Apt which is the bus stop just before Mangwon Suyuji (as stated on the bus route at the bus stop.) Whereas, according to the bus route in the bus, the stop just before 망원유수지 Mangwon Suyuji was named as 신태양목욕탕 Sintaeyang Mokyoktang and not 대림아파트 Daelim Apt. But they are referring to the same bus stop...Anyway, I got on the bus at 4.16pm and reached here at 4.20pm.

With your back facing the road after getting off the bus, turn to your left and walk straight.

Not long later, you will see that underpass.
Walk through the underpass as shown.
Hmmm...I think I should have alight at 망원유수지 Mangwon Suyuji, ie the last stop.

Super duper HOT afternoon!!

I assumed this is 성산대교 Seongsan Bridge.

Nothing much.  It was too hot to stay till sunset(about 2 hours away).
I didn't see any bicycle rental kiosks nearby.
 Neither did I saw any flowers around....
Okie. Back to Hongdae for some last min shopping!

Took the bus from the opposite side of the road from where I alighted earlier on.

Decided to get off at 망원시장 Mangwon Market bus stop instead of going back to Hongdae.

Got off the bus and saw 월드컵 시장 World Cup Market across the road.

The bus stop circled in green was the bus stop which I got off. The blue circle denotes the entrance for Mangwon Market if you are coming from Mangwon Station exit 2. World Cup Market as shown by the red circle.
